Position Available: Full-Time Building Science Assistant Project Manager (Morrisville)

Southern Energy Management, North Carolina’s leading provider of energy efficiency and solar power services, seeks a full-time building science assistant project manager to support our fast-growing commercial building science team in Morrisville, NC. The assistant project manager will execute project work including: assisting in air barrier testing and building thermography inspections and other field tests by moving, assembling, setting up and operating blower doors, infrared cameras and other equipment used in testing. This role is also responsible for customer communications, task management and drafting reports. A strong commitment to sustainable energy and dedication to the vision of SEM is a must.

Job Duties:
  • Conduct building science related testing in the field.
  • Interact with contractors and buildings to provide both on-the-job and more formal training.
  • Research methods and systems to accomplish building science objectives.
  • Draft technical reports and related documents.
  • 20%- 40% travel should be anticipated.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately, follow instructions/schedules/timelines and handle multiple priorities and personalities
  • Ability to generate and proofread technical documents.
  • Strong computer and math skills. Proficiency with MS Office Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Strong organizational, communication and writing abilities; word processing and spreadsheet skills. 
  • Able to prioritize and accomplish tasks independently while also working within a supportive team atmosphere
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • Experience with construction management, plan reading and ability to perform area takeoffs from building plans
  • Work with subject matter experts on technical subjects
  • Familiar with Salesforce
