National Association of Home Builders' Green Building Initiative

The Green Building Initiative is a program created by the NAHB, which has been working with local home builder associations across the country to develop locally-relevant green building programs. These programs help builders develop homes that reduce your energy bills, provide a healthier living environment for your family all while being considerate of the environment.

In North Carolina, the Home Builders Assocation of Durham, Orange, and Chatham Counties assembled a Green Building Initiative council to develop a set of local green home guidelines, based on the NAHB model.
